CHICAGO DESTINATION GUIDE

YOUR NEXT BIG EVENT STARTS HERE

As the hub of the Midwest, Chicago is easy to find – its picturesque skyline calls across the waters of Lake Michigan, lending an impactful first impression that soon reveals world-renowned museums, pulsating nightlife, five-star food, championship sports teams, and perhaps the finest downtown collection of architecture in the world. Thanks to two international airports that feature thousands of flight options, it’s also one of the most cost-competitive cities in the US.

CHICAGO AT A GLANCE

  • Mark Twain said it best: “It is hopeless for the occasional visitor to try to keep up with Chicago, she outgrows his prophecies faster than he can make them. She is always a novelty; for she is never the Chicago you saw when you passed through the last time.”
  • Chicago is a culinary destination at its finest, home to more than 7,300 restaurants with over 20 Michelin-starred.
  • Chicago is the third-largest city in the US with a population of nearly three million.
  • The central business district is home to more than 125 hotels with 43,000 hotel rooms.
  • Being the air travel hub of the Midwest means quick flights from around the country.
  • The city lives and breathes history, from the Prohibition Era to the Great Fire to the World’s Fair.

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

O’Hare International Airport (ORD) One of the busiest airports in the country, ORD is located 18 miles northwest of The Loop with more than 1,000 daily directs from more than 151 US and 63 international destinations. ORD is a major hub for both American and United.

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) Known primarily as a hub for Southwest, Midway is completing the largest airport expansion in 20 years with increased security capacity, modern concessions and thoughtful amenities. MDW also features three FBOs, and is located eight miles southwest of The Loop.

CLIMATE AND CONDITIONS

While Chicago is lovingly nicknamed "The Windy City," that moniker has more to do with our politicians than the weather. It's a moderate four-season lakefront destination.
